Inventory also trended slightly upwards this week as more homes entered the market relative to sales. The average sold price of single family home in the Wood Buffalo region in May snuck up to $528,952.
From a macro perspective, Fort McMurray housing market may face numerous tailwinds in the coming year. Rising commodity (oil and natural gas) prices and cheap financing may push buyers to the market. In addition, increasing construction and lumber costs will likely suppress the building of new housing, tightening supply.
